Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek and Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani are doubts with muscle injuries after both missing the trip to Italy.
David de Gea looks set to keep the gloves for now after a strong performance against West Brom last weekend.
Scott McTominay was a doubt heading into Thursday’s game and was withdrawn after 60 minutes so is back to being an injury concern.
Donny Van de Beek would hope to replace McTominay, albeit carrying out his position differently, but as he is also a doubt then Nemanja Matic may get a rare start.
Newly signed winger Amad Diallo made his highly anticipated debut against Real Sociedad in the Europa league but is unlikely to feature here. He has a good chance of making a full debut in the return leg on Thursday.
