Reports indicate that Manchester United defender and Right-back Diogo Dalot is due to fly to Italy today ahead of completing a loan move to AC Milan from Current club Manchester.
According to MEN, Dalot, 21, arrived early at Manchester United’s Carrington training complex on Saturday morning before the rest of his teammates and only spent 30 minutes on the premises before leaving.
Italian Club AS Roma had enquired about a loan move for Dalot as part of Chris Smalling’s protracted permanent move earlier this week but were rejected by Manchester United.
Diogo Dalot made his first Manchester United start since June in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup win at Brighton but has lined up just once in the Premier League in the last 16 months and not played in the league since February.
Solskjaer selected Timothy Fosu-Mensah over Diogo Dalot in the win at Crystal Palace in July when left-backs Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams were unavailable through injury when Dalot, capable of playing at left-back, was widely expected to come in.
Under 23 lad Ethan Laird, the 19-year-old right-back, was promoted to the first-team squad earlier this week and Manchester United are interested in signing Brazilian left-back Alex Telles from Porto. Laird, Fosu-Mensah and the right-footed Brandon Williams could provide competition for £50m right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Diogo Dalot arrived at United from Porto for £19million in 2018 but the injury-prone full-back has only started 25 times and made 10 substitute appearances. Dalot has three years left on his Manchester United contract.
“There is no option to buy in the Dalot loan as Manchester United asked for €30m”.
