English club Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Facundo Pellistri ahead of transfer deadline day, according to reports reaching us

The Uruguayan outlet Sport 890 reports that Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle to sign the 18-year-old winger ahead of 5th Monday’s transfer deadline.

They report that Pellistri has agreed a five-year deal to move to Old Trafford this summer but his current club Penarol are keen to keep him until January before letting him move.

It is reported Manchester United would instead like to sign the winger now and develop him in their own youth set-up before potentially promoting him to the first-team squad at Old Trafford

Manchester United are the only side reportedly interested in a move for Pellistri at the moment however he was linked with a move to fierce rivals Manchester City as well as Newcastle earlier in the year.

The report also suggested that Pep Guardiola’s side could challenge Manchester United to the signing of Alex Telles from porto ahead of deadline day.

Manchester United are continuing talks over a possible move for Telles this summer but are unwilling to match FC Porto’s valuation of player considering he will be available on a free next summer instead.
Media outlet 90 Min suggest City’s own hunt for a new left-back will see them launch an approach to sign Telles in the coming days, but Bima Sport understand any transfer would first rely on them selling a defender to finance the move.
