According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Manchester United are in “advanced” talks to sign midfielder Boubacar Kamara from French club Olympic Marseille this coming January transfer window s Ralf Rangnick eyes his first signing as interim boss.

Spanish media reports that Rangnick is “convinced” that Kamara is the right man to strengthen his squad in the new year and the Red Devils’ idea to signing the French midfielder could be easy as Real Madrid are reported to have pulled out of the race for his signature as they look to win La liga this season.

Former Real Madrid player cum boss Zinedine Zidane was a keen admirer of the France Under-21 international, but his departure has led to the Los blancos ending their interest. Struggling La liga giants FC Barcelona are also on Kamara’s Rader as reported by the same media.

Kamara has scored one goal in 15 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille so far this season. He has also made five appearances in the Europa League for the French side.

Another media FourFourTwo claim that the deal to sign Kamara is only likely to cost the Red devils close to £10m, as the midfielder is the final year of his contract that expires next summer. It is also believed that Kamara is not expected to immediately displace Scott McTominay or Fred in the Manchester United side as he is also able to play in defence.
