Manchester United are believed to be preparing transfer bid for Jadon Sancho as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes Borussia Dortmund star his top target amid recent protests by the Manchester United faithfuls against club ownership
Manchester United are preparing an £80million bid for the English winger Jadon Sancho.
England international Sancho was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer but Man United ultimately baulked at Dortmund’s £100m valuation.
Sancho has endured a somewhat frustrating season, missing a number of matches through injury, but produced a fine performance in Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against RB Leipzig, scoring twice in a 3-2 win.
The Daily Star believe Manchester United have not been deterred by Sancho’s stop-start season and are determined to make him their marquee summer signing.
Solskjaer is a known admirer of Jadon Sancho and is keen to add a versatile winger to a squad that has consolidated second-place in the Premier League and reached a Europa League final.
The Red Devils boss would also like to welcome Sancho’s Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland to Old Trafford but that position is not a priority, with Edinson Cavani showing his class this season and set to sign a new one-year deal with the club.
Borussia Dortmund will still demand a huge fee for Sancho but they may be willing to consider a £80m offer in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Sancho was asked about his future following Borussia Dortmund’s victory over RB Leipzig, insisting he is happy at the German club as he continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League. ‘Will I leave the club? I don’t know about my future,’ he said. ‘I am very happy here in Dortmund at the moment. I love the club, the fans and the team. They gave me my first professional start.’
