Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has confirmed that the midfielder will be remaining at Manchester United this summer and that talks will soon begin on a new contract.

Pogba’s future has often been in doubt during transfer seasons at Old Trafford over the past year, especially when he admitted he was open to a ‘new challenge’ last summer with Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane keen to sign his fellow countryman, with former club Juventus also said to be interested.

However, a move never materialised for the World Cup winner and he remained at United but the coming season would prove to be difficult, as a troublesome ankle injury limited him to just seven Premier League appearances before football was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Since the restart, however, Pogba , fully recovered from his injury, looked refreshed and revitalised linking up alongside new signing Bruno Fernandes and he played a key role in earning United Champions League qualification with a third place finish and reaching the Europa League semi-finals.

Pogba’s current deal at the club expires next summer, though Manchester United have the option to extend it by a year, but Raiola has revealed that talks will soon begin on a new deal for the 27-year-old.

“Pogba is a key player for Manchester United, they have an important project and he is 100 per cent included,” Raiola told Sky Sports Italia.

“Manchester United will not accept any bid this summer to sell Pogba. We are going to speak about a new contract soon, no stress.”
