LESSON PLAN
A lesson plan is a daily record of what you intend to teach children, it is derived from the scheme of work.
Purpose of a lesson plan
- Provides general information like date, class, age, roll and time.
- It provides objectives which guide the teacher on the activities to give. Objectives are supposed to be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time bound.
- It helps in showing what children will be doing in every stage of the lesson, discussing individual group activities, problem solving, demonstrating, etc.
- It shows the material and equipment needed by the teacher and pupils.
- It shows how the teacher will evaluate the lesson e.g. by asking review questions etc.
