Manchester united star Paul Pogba has revealed that he studied every united match during his injury lay-off so that he would be ready to form a partnership with Bruno Fernandes on his return to action
The French international returned to action for United last month having missed half a year through injury as he watched Ole embark on an incredible unbeaten run from the sidelines.
Bruno Fernandes’ arrival in the January transfer window has proven to be the catalyst behind United’s resurgent form, and Pogba was desperate to link up with the Portuguese midfielder on his return.
In order to get up to speed Pogba analyzed United’s style of play with Fernandes and it seems like his hard work is paying off on the pitch.
“I had a lot of time off so I watched all the games,” Pogba told BT Sport.
“I try to learn. When Bruno arrived, I get that I need to understand him straight away. I didn’t want one month to adapt to his game so I watched him, watched his position, how he used the ball, what he’s good at so when I came back we could do well together. I understand him so I don’t have to adapt.
“Straight away when I get to him, I know ‘I can make this run’, ‘I know I have to pass him the ball there because he is dangerous there’. I try to analyse how he plays with the team, how to improve my positioning and stuff like that. It was a lesson when I was injured.”
