  The Qualifications and training required of a supervisor  
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferably in finance, accounting, actuarial science, insurance  
• Professional qualifications – Good progress in ACII or AIIK .At least Dip CII or 10 Papers of AIIK  
• Attentive to details with Good analytical skills  
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and customer care skills Remuneration  
• certifications, Seminars and relevant Trainings are added advantage  
• At least 5 years relevant experience in an underwriting Department in a reputable insurance firm having worked 2 years as a senior underwriter  
• Certifications and registration with professional bodies added advantage.  
• Seminars attended on Technical Risks assessment
Requirements and Responsibilities
Oversees activities of the underwriting department. Provides supervision for a group of underwriters who review, analyze, and inspect insurance risk.
Analyzes various rate plans utilizing a company’s claims history to determine the appropriate rate plan and benefits costs.
Must be familiar with underwriting regulations.
Typically reports to a Deputy underwriting manager or head of a unit/department.
Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team.
Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Thorough knowledge of the team processes.
